Estimated 70 Million Americans Expected to Hit the Water This Summer

May 25, 2009 by World news

The recreational boating industry trade group, National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), reports an estimated 70 million Americans went boating in 2008, a five percent increase over 2007. What's more, the industry expects this summer to be one of the busiest for boating as a result of lower gas prices and Americans wanting to vacation close to home and is sharing affordable ways for non-boaters to get their 'feet wet.' Massive Sewer Budget Stimulus Package Project Completed On-Time & More Than $1-Million Under-Budget; Millville by the Sea Developers Manage $12-Million Project

April 22, 2009 by World news

The largest privately funded sewer project in the history of Sussex County-owned utilities was completed last year when a group of three developers, working with the Sussex County Engineering Department, designed and constructed $12-million in sewer infrastructure in the Millville. The work was begun in 2007, and the new system was "turned on" in June, 2008; the first customers hooked up in December. The system will provide for the wastewater needs of the area for the next 50-years. Sussex County systems are typically paid for with public funds and the sewer customers reimburse costs over the next 20 to 40 years. Best of all, it didn't cost the taxpayers of Sussex County a nickel. All of the costs for the system design and construction were paid by private developers and were turned over to the county as part of its sewer infrastructure. The key to the whole success of the project was to assemble a great team, with the joint partnership with Sussex County Engineering, Whitman Requardt Assoc., The Developer Group and, in selecting George & Lynch as our contractor, we were able to get the project completed on-time and more than a million dollars under-budget.
